Enter one or more words to search. Tips and Options appear below

Sort by   [Scores] = often the best choice

Also consider using our Siteguide. It works!

  • Place a "phrase in quotes" to find the phrase exactly as it is typed (but case-insensitive)

Example: typing the phrase "everything must go" in quotes finds pages containing that intact phrase, not just all the individual words

  • By default, a search is for all terms typed in the search box. If you want to exclude a word,
place a - (minus) sign in front of it

Example: typing countdown -ecstasy finds pages that contain "countdown" but do not contain "ecstasy"

  • Add the wildcard * to the end of a word or term to match all endings

Example: typing techni* finds pages containing technical, technician, tecnique, technicolor, etc.

  • Searches are case-insensitive

Example: typing becker finds pages containing becker, Becker, BECKER, BeCkEr, etc.

  • Most searches are best Sorted by [Scores]. Higher Scores are given to results found in the Title and Keywords of a page than to the number of matches in the body of the page itself [which is the "Matches"].

Example: A search for gaucho Sorted by [Scores] will put pages with "gaucho" in the Title and/or the Keywords at the top of your search results. But if you Sort by [Matches], your top results might be pages where the word "gaucho" appears the most number of times -- which might be an article, interview, or chat transcript.

  • On a site of this size (almost 500 pages!), many common-word searches will return too many results. If you cannot easily find what you are looking for here, consider using our Siteguide, which organizes the entire site by content category, and is often more useful for finding obvious targets.

Example: searching for a word that appears in our menu bars -- like touring or history -- will return many superfluous results. Note: if you select "Sort by Scores", the important pages will appear at the top of your results. Still, some may find the Siteguide preferable.

  • Except for the symbols * - " (see above) and apostrophes as part of a word, special characters and other punctuation like [( & ! . $ % ] (among others) will be ignored and may cause your search to fail.

  • Search function operates on browsable web pages only (no graphics or media files).
